In this project, we built a web calculator that allows customers of a solar panel broker to get a first impression of how many solar panels of a certain type will fit on their roof.

The customer can enter the dimensions of his roof and add chimneys and skylights. The individual objects can be placed to the centimeter via drag-and-drop as well as via a number field.

The algorithm then fills the empty spaces on the roof, taking into account preset distances to objects as well as the edge of the roof. Among other things, the customer sees the estimated performance and can download the design as a PDF.
